Versailles
In 1827, Tocqueville was appointed juge auditeur (mediator) at the court of law in Versailles, an unsalaried apprenticeship. The next year he took this apartment at 66 Rue d'Anjou in Versailles with Beaumont, who was then working as the deputy public prosecutor.
